22.214.171.124. On Mac¶
If you have saved previously exported KeyReel JSON-file (or CSV-file from other password managers), you can import it into KeyReel, for example, after reinstalling KeyReel on your phone.
Credentials already stored in the KeyReel have a higher priority than those being imported. This means that if your phone already has credentials with the same site+username pair, they will be skipped during the Import, leaving the existing data in KeyReel for those accounts intact.
To import JSON or CSV file you have to walk through these steps:
Run import within the KeyReel Mac App (click the Import… menu item, select “KeyReel JSON” or appropriate ‘<password manager> (CSV)’ from the source list, then press Continue).
Now you have to select the file you want to import. Press button to open file system browser window:
Select file you want to import and press Open:
To start importing, press Continue:
Approval request will be sent to your iPhone:
Now check your phone and tap Approve importing or Deny it. After tapping the Approve button you have to confirm your PIN-code:
Now the import begins so you simply have to wait a while until it’s finished:
Keep your phone close to the computer during the whole import procedure!
Now you can see your imported credentials in the KeyReel Password Vault on your phone.
